Amazing Maize Maze in Iowa
The “maize maze craze” is hitting Iowa hard this year. I recently experienced my first one. The children I had brought to the maze “lost” me and I stood there silently and experienced total solitude. I could only hear the rustling of the corn stalks, and see the clear crisp blue sunny sky. It was awesome. Then they found me. Included in this painting: my Dad’s Panther Steiger tractor with his first Kinze cart, farm animals being entertained by the maze participants, Kyle and Brian’s pumpkins (“sales and service”) located south of Iowa City, turkeys, geese, a pheasant, volunteers and a full harvest moon.
